Ashfield Municipal Council begins installing 76 Lifesaver signs for a six-month trial. See Council Action.

Ashfield Municipal Council in Sydney’s inner west resolves to trial Lifesaver signs for six months with a view to extending the scheme throughout the municipality over the following two years if the trial is successful. Council also resolves to investigate ways of improving ratepayers’ display of house numbers. See Council Action.

City of Sydney Lord Mayor Frank Sartor encourages StreetSigns to gain support for Lifesaver signs through the NSW State Parliament. City engineers begin investigation of Lifesaver signs as part of proposed boundary changes. (This effort has been shelved for now following the NSW Supreme Court’s ruling against the changes.)

Andrew Tink MP (www.andrewtink.com.au), NSW Member for Epping and Shadow Minister for Police, presents a Private Member's Statement to the NSW Parliament asking members to encourage all councils within their constituencies to adopt the Lifesaver Plan for signage.

StreetSigns Australia launches website www.streetsigns.com.au to provide information about Lifesaver signs, wedge notation, and the Lifesaver Plan to all interested parties, and to assist councils in implementing the Plan.
